What actions should students undertake when transferring to the ACT during years 7 – 10? 

Students transferring during years 7 – 10 should obtain from their school copies of their reports, other evidence of their attainments, and details of courses studied at their school. This information should then be presented to the principal of the receiving school. 

 Students transferring during year 10 may have their attainments in similar courses (based on the assessment details provided by the previous school) recognised by the receiving school.  When this happens a student can be awarded a Status grade (S) for each course recognised as being similar to a course in the receiving school.  The principal of the receiving school makes this decision.

Students transferring after having just completed year 10 should obtain from their school copies of their reports, other evidence of their attainments and details of courses studied at their school.  

This information should then be presented to the principal of the receiving school.  Generally, the qualifications of students who have completed Year 10 in other jurisdictions will be considered satisfactory for entry into the Year 12 Certificate program in the ACT.
