How are secondary schools structured in Victoria?

In Victoria, secondary education begins in Year 7, generally in the year students reach thirteen years of age, and is completed in Year 12. Year 10 marks the end of compulsory schooling for most Victorian students, as they reach 16 years of age during that year, but the majority of students move on to Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) studies in Years 11 and 12.
