What must students do to be awarded the senior secondary school leaving credential?

A Year 12 Certificate based on a standard package will be awarded on completion of an educational program approved be a college as having provided a coherent pattern of study and which is equivalent of at least 17 standard units in a period not exceeding five years.

With the approval of the college principal, deferment of study may be allowed once for an unbroken time period of up to one year.

Which document(s) lists the subjects/courses studied in Year 11 and/or Year 12?

Two documents list courses and units studied during Year 11 and Year 12:

An ACT Secondary College Record is available on request to students who are leaving college, seeking employment or moving interstate as an up-to-date record of their current studies.

The Australian Capital Territory Year 12 Certificate is issued at the end of Year 12 study to students who have meet the requirements for this certificate.

What advice is given relating to tertiary selection?

An ACT Tertiary Entrance Statement is produced for all students who meet the requirements of a T package.

Reported on this Statement is a student’s Aggregate Score, the weighting of the scores used in the calculation of the aggregate score and the scaled course score of all T courses. The Aggregate Score is the sum of the best three T major scaled scores plus 0.6 of the next best score in a T course.
