What must students do to be awarded the leaving credential?
The Senior Certificate is a formal record of a student's individual achievements in approved subjects in senior secondary education (Years 11 and 12 of schooling). It is issued at the end of Year 12 to students who have:
-
completed at least one semester of Authority or Authority Registered Subjects, or one Recorded Subject, or attained one vocational competency
remained at school until the date specified as the end of Year 12.
The Certificate of Post-Compulsory School Education is issued to a student if the person:
- has completed at least 24 semesters of schooling
- is not eligible to be issued with a Senior Certificate
and
- the principal of the school which the student attended in the final year of schooling gives the Authority details of the student's achievement as part of the post-compulsory period of schooling (the post-compulsory period of schooling is the period after a person turned 15 years of age).
